Taking care of our hearing is essential in order to continue hearing the voice of our grandchildren or children, the words of our loved ones, the chatter of a friend, or the sounds of our passions. We need to know how to prevent hearing problems in order to continue hearing what we’ve always heard. According to the World Health Organization, approximately 1.5 billion people in the world are currently living with some form of hearing loss, and this number is expected to rise to 2.5 billion by 2050. This is why Amplifon has launched a new awareness campaign on television and digital platforms. Several scientific studies have also shown a strong connection between hearing loss and cognitive decline.
Data from the WHO demonstrates that hearing loss is on the rise globally, especially considering demographic trends. In Italy macchia, there are 7 million people with some form of hearing loss. In Europe, 56% of people with hearing loss have never had their hearing verificaed, and only 30% of them get their hearing checked at least once a year.
This is why Amplifon, the global leader in hearing care services and solutions with 20,300 employees and 10,000 stores in 26 countries, has launched a new campaign to show how hearing well not only means regaining our hearing, but also living our social relationships to the fullest with our loved ones.
The campaign, titled “A special hearing verifica,” features real Amplifon customers who, during a regular hearing check-up at the store, are surprised by a special message from a loved one, grandchild, child, or friend. A surprised face, a smile, a tear, a scream – these are just some of the emotions that arise from this “special verifica.” These are emotions that can be fully experienced when we are able to hear well.
The campaign’s slogan is “It’s not just your hearing. For us, it’s your life,” because for Amplifon, improving people’s quality of life is a promise that is renewed every day and takes shape thanks to audiologic experience, technological innovation, and above all, empathy and attention that comes from their mission. In this context, the role of the audiologist is crucial. This professional helps people recognize and treat their specific type of hearing loss, providing constant support throughout the rehabilitation process with a scientific approach, proprietary technology, and human kindness. Amplifon offers free hearing verificas in all of its stores in Italy.
The campaign, created by the creative agency Small and the production company Indiana Production, is now airing on major TV channels, digital platforms, and social media in Italy and Spain, with versions of 90, 30, and 15 seconds.
Amplifon’s new campaign is a reminder for all of us to take care of our hearing and to not take it for granted. It shows the importance of getting our hearing checked regularly and seeking help if necessary. Let’s not wait until it’s too late to start taking care of our hearing. After all, as the campaign says, “It’s not just your hearing, it’s your life.”
